Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Bar Manager to oversee daily operations of our bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverage service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The Assistant Bar Manager will play a key role in supervising team members, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies.
- Evaluate daily operations
- Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
- Monitor staff performance
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Recruit staff
- Set staff work schedules
- Supervise staff
- Train staff
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
- Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
- Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
- Address customers’ complaints or concerns
- Provide customer service
- Manage events
