We are committed to excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our Finance team.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the General Accountant will be responsible for Accounts Receivable, Epicor-CMS ERP transactions, reconciliations, and general accounting functions. The successful candidate will be organized, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily/Weekly Activities:

  • Update cashbook and post banking transactions in Epicor-CMS ERP
  • Run weekly Aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables
  • Post journal entries into Epicor-CMS ERP
  • Review AP cheque-runs and wire payments for accuracy
  • Prepare timely and accurate bank and GL account reconciliations
  • Post AR invoices and customer payments in Epicor-CMS ERP
  • Assist the Controller with account analysis and ad-hoc queries.
  • Month-End Activities
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries in a timely manner
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts accurately
  • Prepare accruals and prepayment schedules and post related entries
  • Assist the Controller with financial statement preparation and analysis

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Epicor-CMS ERP
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

  • Accounting: 4 years (required)
  • ERP systems: 4 years (required)
  • Microsoft Excel: 4 years (preferred)
  • AP cheque-runs : 3 years (preferred)
  • Epicor-CMS ERP: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (preferred)
