We are seeking a skilled an experienced Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, truck-trailers, and heavy spec equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Truck Mechanic will ensure all vehicles and equipment operate safely and reliably to support our operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, truck-trailers, and heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air systems
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and mechanical expertise
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete repairs
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals for complex systems
- Perform alignment procedures to ensure proper vehicle operation
- Conduct safety inspections to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems and truck-trailers including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
- Perform service calls when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a mechanic with heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
- Comfortable and experienced working on trucks that are dirty, dusty, or exposed to heavy use, including performing routine maintenance and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems
- Skilled in automotive repair diagnostics using modern tools and schematics
- Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service and alignment procedures
- Mechanical aptitude for assembly and equipment repair tasks
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring issues and soldering skills
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members involved in service processes
