Overview
Tully Luxury Travel is a boutique, high touch travel advisory crafting exceptional journeys for discerning clients across the globe. For nearly four decades, we’ve curated luxury itineraries that feel deeply personal—whether that’s a maiden world cruise, a once-in-a-lifetime expedition, or a perfectly timed long weekend away.
Our work is exclusive; our culture is inclusive. We believe the best ideas come from diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences. We welcome team members who are curious about the world, committed to excellence, and eager to grow—as professionals and as people. If you’re obsessed with details, driven by service, and energized by the power of travel to change how people feel and see the world, you’ll feel at home here.
The Role: Crafting Journeys
As a Senior Travel Designer, you are more than a travel agent: you are a curator of experiences and a trusted advisor to your clients. Drawing on your own travel knowledge, relationships, and intuition, you design cruises and connected itineraries that surprise, delight, and stay with clients long after they return home.
You’ll take full ownership of the client journey—from the very first hello to the “welcome back” call—ensuring every touchpoint feels intentional, warm, and effortless.
How You'll Share Our Clients' Journey
- Own the itinerary from idea to homecoming. Conceptualize and execute fully customized cruise experiences, often integrated with pre- and post-land arrangements, that reflect each client’s tastes, pace, and expectations.
- Turn every inquiry into a relationship. Convert leads from email, phone, and public engagement, managing the sales funnel from initial inquiry through post-trip follow-up with an eye toward lifetime value, not one-off bookings.
- Curate and elevate, not just book. Advise and thoughtfully upsell based on what will genuinely enhance the journey: suite categories, unique shore excursions and private tours, and insider experiences clients can’t easily access on their own.
- Build and nurture a personal portfolio. Proactively manage a book of clients, maintain ongoing relationships, and become their first call whenever they dream about what’s next.
- Qualify like a true designer. Ask smart, sensitive questions to understand clients’ personal style, preferences, and non-negotiables, then translate that into itineraries that feel tailor-made.
- Stay on the leading edge of product. Remain a true luxury cruise specialist by keeping current on ships, itineraries, onboard product, promotions, and destination trends.
- Handle complexity with calm. Successfully negotiate, manage price objections, and address concerns, balancing client advocacy with business sensibility.
- Collaborate with your support crew
- Provide direction to support staff for research, proposals, and confirmations, ensuring the execution matches the promise.
- Partner with the world’s best
Work directly with suppliers and partners to arrange cruises, air, hotels, transfers, tours, insurance, and other services that complete the journey.
- Solve problems with grace. When plans change, work with clients and internal teams to adjust or cancel arrangements while preserving trust and minimizing friction.
- Use data to delight. Leverage the CRM to track preferences, history, and moments that matter, proactively presenting the right experiences at the right time.
- Spot what’s next. Bring forward new product ideas, partnerships, or trends you see in the market that could enhance Tully’s offering and competitive edge.
- Protect clients with accurate information. Provide clear, accurate guidance on documentation, customs, visas, and foreign country regulations.
- Support the business of travel. Collect payments, coordinate with accounting, and ensure all financial details are handled with precision. What You'll Bring to the Journey
- A communicator clients trust: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a polished, professional tone and meticulous attention to detail.
- Impeccable organization: Strong time and project management skills; comfort managing multiple complex itineraries and deadlines at the same time.
- Calm under pressure: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding thoughtfully—even when timelines are tight or situations shift.
- A natural host—even over the phone: You can motivate, excite, and reassure clients by phone and email; your warmth and confidence come through clearly.
- A self-starter mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to anticipate needs rather than waiting to be asked.
- Proven travel design experience: Experience creating and selling custom itineraries, ideally within luxury cruise or high-end FIT environments.
- Destination & product expertise: International travel experience and deep knowledge of key cruise destinations; ability to speak credibly and enthusiastically about where you’re sending clients.
- Sales aptitude and client development: Experience prospecting, building, and nurturing a client base, with an eye on lifetime relationships rather than single transactions.
- Language skills Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an asset
Your Background & Credentials
- TICO Certification (required, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in travel, tourism, or hospitality (luxury strongly preferred)
- Degree or diploma in tourism, travel, or hospitality (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
How We Invest In Your Growth
At Tully, we see travel design as a craft that’s always evolving. As a Senior Travel Designer, you can expect:
- Exposure to top-tier cruise lines and partners around the world
- Ongoing product and destination training, supplier events, and fam opportunities (as available)
- Coaching and feedback aimed at refining both your sales performance and your client experience skills
- A high-performance, high-support environment where excellence is expected and recognized
