Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Residential Care Manager, where you will lead and oversee the daily operations of Ascentia House. The incumbent will ensure that all children and youth receive safe, high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centred care in accordance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), Ontario Regulations, MCCSS licensing standards, and Ascentia House policies. Your leadership will inspire staff, support residents’ well-being, and uphold the community’s reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of caregiving staff to ensure exceptional resident care
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, including dementia and medication management
  • Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Manage budgets effectively to optimize resources while maintaining quality care services
  • Lead staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and skilled team
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including assisted living and nursing home standards
  • Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, addressing concerns promptly and compassionately

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Social Services, or a related field (Master's degree considered an asset).
  • 5+ years' experience in residential child and youth care.
  • 3+ years' supervisory or management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of CYFSA, MCCSS licensing requirements, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience supporting youth with autism, developmental disabilities, FASD, mental health, and behavioural needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervising experience in healthcare or residential settings.
  • Skilled in budgeting, resource allocation, and operational management within a care facility.
  • Proficient in medication administration procedures with attention to detail and regulatory adherence.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to handle complex situations with empathy, professionalism, and clear decision-making.
