Overview
The Canada China Business Council (CCBC) is seeking a highly motivated Clean Technology Mission Consultant to support the planning, promotion, and successful delivery of the Canadian Clean Technology Mission to China.
This is a business development-focused consulting role centered on delegate recruitment, industry engagement, strategic partnerships, and stakeholder outreach. Working closely with the Mission Lead and the CCBC team, the consultant will leverage their network and industry expertise to identify and recruit high-quality Canadian companies, cultivate strategic partnerships, and strengthen CCBC's engagement within Canada's clean technology ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is a well-connected professional with a strong understanding of Canada's cleantech sector, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven track record in business development, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry Outreach & Delegate Recruitment
· Promote the Canadian Clean Technology Mission to prospective participants across Canada's cleantech ecosystem.
· Conduct outreach to identify, engage, and recruit prospective delegates, partners, and sponsors.
· Communicate the value of the mission, including opportunities for market access, commercial partnerships, and business opportunities in China.
· Maintain regular engagement with prospective participants throughout the recruitment process.
Stakeholder & Partnership Development
· Build and maintain relationships with companies, industry associations, research institutions, accelerators, government organizations, and other stakeholders across Canada's cleantech ecosystem.
· Support the development of strategic partnerships that strengthen CCBC's industry engagement and expand awareness of the mission.
· Identify opportunities to strengthen long-term engagement between stakeholders and CCBC.
· Represent CCBC professionally in interactions with industry stakeholders and mission participants.
Mission Planning & Delivery
· Collaborate with CCBC's Canada and China teams to support mission planning, coordination, and participant engagement.
· Provide sector insights to support mission planning, outreach, and participant engagement.
· Track outreach activities, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates on participant and stakeholder engagement.
· Participate in the Clean Technology Mission to China as part of the CCBC delegation, subject to project requirements.
QualificationsQualifications & Experience
· Knowledge of Canada's clean technology sector and its key stakeholders.
· Experience working in the cleantech industry and/or broader cleantech community.
· A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
· Experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, business development, project coordination, communications, or a related field.
· Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
· Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
Assets
· Experience supporting trade missions, international business development, export promotion, or market expansion initiatives.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
· French and/or Mandarin language skills are considered an asset.
