Job Title: Junior Estimator / Project Coordinator
Position Type: In-Person, 18-month Contract (with possibility of extension)

Start: Mid-August 2026

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our growing team. In this dual-function role, you will learn to prepare accurate material take-offs while coordinating daily project logistics from initial bid to final installation.

Key Responsibilities

· Identify & Pursue new bid/project opportunities: Email invites, MERX, Biddingo, Trades&Tender, + Other platforms

· Perform material take-offs: Read architectural plans to count and measure various glazing scopes.

· Gather pricing: Request and track quotes from glass vendors and hardware suppliers to secure competitive material costs.

· Draft bid proposals: Compile cost estimates and formal proposals/bids for commercial glazing projects based off drawing and specification review(s).

· Drafting (Shop Drawings): Drawings to consist of materials/hardware being used for a particular project, submit along with samples (if requested) for approvals prior to order placements.

· Coordinate project logistics: Maintain project schedules, track vendor lead times, and issue purchase orders. Includes order placements.

· Support field teams: Facilitate clear communication between clients/GCs, suppliers, vendors, and on-site installers/team.

· Manage documentation: Organize submittals, follow-up on bids, manage daily email correspondence, request-for-information (RFI) logs, change orders, and start-up/ closeout documents, maintaining in-house logs to ensure they’re up-to-date.

· Other duties as required.

Note: This position may require occasional site visits, meetings with General Contractors, project walkthrough, supplier meetings and attendance at project meetings.

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements

· Education: Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, or related field(s).

· Experience: 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating or project coordination (experience in glass, windows, or storefront systems is an asset).

· Team player: Needs to be able to work solo or with a team member.

· Construction Drawing & Specification Reading: Strong foundational ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and elevations.

· Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word & AutoCAD mandatory

· Traits: Excellent time management for tight bid/site deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with an understanding of bid strategy and competitive pricing. Needs to be able to adapt to changing schedules and timelines.

· Transportation: Personal vehicle & license required.
