Job Title: Accounting Analyst III

Job Location: Chatham, ON

Schedule: On-site hybrid – In office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday

Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst III to support financial operations through accurate reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. This role plays a key part in month-end close activities, internal controls, and management reporting while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.

What’s the Job?

  • Prepare and support month-end closing journal entries, reporting system adjustments, system reconciliations, and end-user reports
  • Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure the integrity of data interfaced between billing systems, reporting systems, and ERP systems
  • Assist with maintaining, updating, and documenting internal control policies and procedures within the Finance department
  • Provide financial analysis and management reporting to support business decisions on a periodic and ad-hoc basis
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on SOX processes and controls related to sales
  • Ensure adherence to key and non-key SOX controls
  • Support team members through collaboration and cross-training opportunities
  • Develop and implement reporting practices and processes, identifying efficiency and best-practice opportunities
  • Identify process and system improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency
  • Promote and support a continuous improvement culture within the team

What’s Needed?

  • University degree in Business or Accounting (preferred)
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, EPBCS, and/or Power BI
  • Experience working in a large organization
  • Experience within the Energy or Utilities sector

Pay: $42.00-$43.00 per hour
