Full job description

The No Sugar Company is scaling fast — our retail footprint now spans Costco, Walmart, ALDI, Target, Food Lion, Wegmans, BJ's and more, and our combined brand portfolio is growing rapidly. That hockey-stick growth comes with growing pains: claims and deductions that need a sharp, organized owner before they eat into margin. We're hiring a Claims & Deductions Analyst to be that owner.

About Us:

The No Sugar Company (alongside our sister brands, Joyburst and Wellnx) makes better-for-you snacks & supplements sold across major North American retailers. We're a fast-growing CPG business with a lean, hands-on team — every hire here has real ownership and visibility into how the business runs.

About the Role:

Twelve months in, this person will have brought order to a claims and deductions process that touches nearly every part of the business. They'll have cut average resolution time, built a reliable early-warning system using AI-assisted invoice review, and become the go-to person that Customer Service, Accounts Payable, Logistics and Operations all trust to get claims right the first time.

What You'll Do:

  • Investigate and resolve claims and deductions submitted by customers and brokers, gathering the documentation needed to support or deny each one.
  • Verify invoiced amounts and deductions for accuracy against contracts, trade agreements, and purchase orders in NetSuite.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to review incoming invoices and flag inconsistencies before they turn into disputes.
  • Act as the liaison between Customer Service, Accounts Payable, Logistics, and Operations to keep claims moving and unblock resolutions.
  • Track claims data to identify trends, recurring patterns, and irregularities across retail partners.
  • Follow up on unapproved deductions and drive collection of undisputed overdue balances.
  • Maintain claims and deductions documentation to a standard that holds up to audit and regulatory review.

What Success Looks Like (KPIs):

  • Average claim resolution time, tracked monthly and trending down.
  • Deduction recovery rate — the share of disputed deductions successfully reversed or collected.
  • Aging of open claims — % resolved within 30 / 60 / 90 days.
  • Invoice inconsistencies caught proactively (via AI-assisted review) vs. discovered after the fact.
  • Quarter-over-quarter reduction in repeat, preventable deductions from the same root cause.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

  • 1–2 years of experience processing claims, with retail claims experience required.
  • Working proficiency with an ERP system (NetSuite experience strongly preferred) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Careful attention to detail, with strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple open claims at once and prioritizing without losing accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Experience using AI-assisted or automated tools for invoice review or anomaly detection.
  • Familiarity with retailer deduction portals or systems (e.g., Walmart Retail Link, SPS Commerce).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
