Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary
We are a unionized Centre that is an equal opportunity employer, seeking a passionate and energetic Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The Candidate would work in our B&A Program with children between the ages of 4-7 years old. The Early Childhood Teacher will work collaboratively with parents/ caregivers, and other educators to create a positive learning experience.

The start date is September 8th, 2026.

The hours of work would be a split shift from 7:30-9:00 am & 3:00-6:00 pm Monday to Friday. One day per week, the morning shift will be 7:30-10:00 am. On all non school days the shift will be a straight 8 hours.

Requirement Skills:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate program plans for both indoors and outdoors, that promote learning and development in various domains, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills

- Create a safe and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity that meet the need of individuals as well as the group

-Knowledge of Emergent Curriculum style of teaching and ensure the philosophy of the program is upheld

-Must have strong behaviour guidance skills

-Knowledge of the documents: How Does Learning Happen, Early Learning for Every Child Today, City of Toronto; AQI, The Child Care and Early Years Act and Toronto Public Health; Infection Prevention and Control for Child Care Centres

- Experience working with school age children in a childcare or educational setting is required

-Must be able to work independently with a group of children or as part of a team

-Able to uphold the philosophy of the Centre

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications Required:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma

-Registered and in good standing with the College of ECE

-Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR C Certificate

-Must provide a current clear Vulnerable Sector check

-Must provide an up to date medical form, health assessment and TB test result

Pay: $29.86 per hour
