Cultivation Manager

Cultivation Manager position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and operates to ensure the production of the highest quality plant available. Follows established policies and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks. Supports techniques and practices in all areas of cultivation of cannabis including propagation, transplanting, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and disease detection and management. Maintains the integrity of cultivation areas and supports the cultivation of the best quality medical cannabis. Manages a team of Cultivation Techs.

CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage and update accurate records of all production activities.

· Facility Operations: Support facility operations as a member of the cultivation team to produce the highest quality medical cannabis possible.

· Production: Support and perform cultivation operations, including harvest, trim, cure and finishing processes, ensuring that production timelines follow established production plans.

· Assure correct levels of Nutrients and manage feedings.

· Assist in cloning and germination of new plants.

· Maintain good agricultural practices as well as good handling practices.

· Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety.

· Manage the Cultivation team to include assigning job duties and assessing individual performance

· All other duties assigned.

JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

· Understanding and knowledge of the cultivation of cannabis plants.

· Ability to maintain and renew mother plants.

· Ability to work with hydroponic and water pH and EC, as well as mixing nutrients / fertilizers.

· Assist in cloning and germination of new plants

· Experience with good agricultural practices as well as good handling practices.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.

· Experience working with nutrient deficiencies and how to identify the deficiency.

· Work with crop pests including how to identify and how to treat the problem.

· Focuses simultaneously on short- and long-term goals; ability to identify problems quickly.

· Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety.

· Must possess excellent communication skills for communicating with peers, schedulers

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and time management abilities.

· Highly capable of multi-tasking, with minimal supervision.

· Previous personnel management experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Preferred a Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or related field.

· 2 -3 years’ experience in agriculture / horticulture r elated field.

· Must pass a Criminal background check and drug test.

· Required to work shift work, days, nights, and/or weekends.

· Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
