We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and provide strategic financial leadership. This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional involvement, and can support both financial operations and company-wide efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Operations
- Manage daily banking, cash flow, reconciliations, and deposits
- Oversee AP/AR including vendor payments, EFTs, progress draws, and project billings
- Prepare monthly financial statements, project cost reports, account reconciliations, and Project related progress draws
- Administer payroll (weekly union and semi-monthly cycles) and benefit programs
- Sage 300 accounting system tasks include job setup, company setup, and administration
- Manage month-end and year-end close-out, including accruals and regulatory filings (HST, WSIB, EHT, corporate tax, etc.)
- Support financial forecasting, cost tracking, and insurance reporting
Corporate & Administrative Functions
- Maintain intercompany agreements and contract documentation
- Manage insurance, bonding, and banking reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Maintain corporate records and project-related documentation
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar designation preferred
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a senior or controller-level role
- Construction accounting experience is considered a strong asset
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 300
- Experience with payroll (including union payroll) and regulatory compliance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities
