About the Role

Based out of Charlottetown, PE, Auxly is looking to hire for a Quality Control (QC) Chemist. Reporting to the Lead Quality Control Chemist, the QC Chemist will support the in-process, intermediate, and final product testing at Auxly Charlottetown. The Quality Control Chemist will be responsible for conducting various sample preparation methods and chromatographic tests for multiple analytes.

They will utilize problem solving to identify problems, symptoms, root cause and impact to implement alternatives and solutions.


What can you expect to do

  • Conduct in-process testing for a variety of intermediates and finished goods using various chromatographic tests.
  • Complete a variety of non-chromatographic assays and a variety of chemical tests to evaluate product conformance.
  • Complete and review test records thoroughly and improve QC test record documentation as needed.
  • Use a variety of software platforms (ERP and Quality Management System) to complete material dispositions and support various quality events.
  • Other related tasks as assigned and as operationally required.


What we are looking for

  • 1+ years’ experience in Quality Control in a practical laboratory environment, or
  • Post-Secondary education with a Scientific background in analytical testing.
  • Experience with sample preparation and chromatographic assays.


What will set you apart

  • Experience with an ERP and/or QMS system is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a GMP/GPP/CFIA environment is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of chromatographic software and data analysis is an asset.
