CULTIVATION TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Cultivation Team Supervisors and Cultivation Team Lead your work will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Perform all the tasks in the cultivation areas, including: cloning, transplanting, defoliation, super-cropping, topping, trimming
- Maintain cannabis plants individually and with care and attention
- Maintain and verify plant health and cultivation records
- Trimming
- Attend to feeding & watering schedules, assign/adjust environmental conditions (light, air & water temperatures, humidity, CO2, air circulation)
- Conduct preventative maintenance and elimination of all types of mould, powdery mildew, spider mites, root aphids, fungus gnats, etc. in a pesticide-free environment
- Apply and monitor beneficial insects
- Update Ample Organic Inventory System
- Maintain cultivation area equipment: ongoing and preventative
- Adhere to all Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment
- Work safely by exercising due diligence and reporting any hazards to the Team Lead, Cultivation Supervisor or Head Grower
- Vacuum, mop, wipe up spills, remove garbage and maintain tidiness in cultivation rooms
- Wash and/or sanitize cultivation equipment
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of plant science and anatomy
- Detailed knowledge of Cannabis and Cannabis cultivation practice
- Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labour tasks required for employment in a commercial scale indoor growing facility.
- Ability to be trained to use plant inventory software and equipment
- Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as pesticide-free plant treatment options is an asset
- Knowledge of cannabis plant and genetics is an asset
- Experience with growing plants in an aquaponic environment will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc. is an asset
- Knowledge of GMP and GPP is an asset
- Information gathering and monitoring skills
- Health and security clearance
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Job requires squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching and standing for extended hours
- Ability to act independently and as a team member
- Attention to detail and accuracy including thorough documentation abilities
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice
- Excellent comprehension, communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation: To be determined based on skills and experience
Status and Hours: Permanent, 40 hrs per week
