Job Summary

The Senior Post-Harvest Technician plays a key role in supporting the post-harvest team by ensuring the proper application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining high-quality standards, and promoting a productive and positive work environment. This role involves training and mentoring staff, supporting the Post-Harvest Supervisor, and contributing to ongoing process improvements while also performing essential post-harvest functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Training:

Train post-harvest staff in the practical application of SOPs, ensuring all team members have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Support Staff:

Provide hands-on support and guidance to team members to promote a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

  • Support Leadership:

Assist the Post-Harvest Supervisor in day-to-day operations, including planning, organizing, and overseeing post-harvest activities.

  • Promote SOP Adherence:

Encourage and support compliance with all SOPs to maintain operational consistency and quality.

  • Promote Quality Standards:

Monitor processes and products to ensure they meet company quality standards, identifying and addressing any issues as needed.

  • Encourage Pacing Expectations:

Maintain efficient workflows by motivating staff to meet established pacing and productivity benchmarks.

  • Promote Positive Work Culture:

Foster a supportive and respectful work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and employee well-being.

  • Elevated Signals:

Learn and assist in the monitoring, movement, and data entry of product using the elevated signals per system.

  • Trim and Package Cannabis:

Learn and perform all trimming and packaging tasks to ensure products meet quality and production standards.

  • Clean All Equipment and Working Rooms:

Sanitize and maintain equipment and workspaces to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with regulations.

  • Participate in All Group Functions Within the Facility:

Collaborate with other teams to support facility-wide initiatives and events.

  • Work in Other Departments When Asked:

Provide support to other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Continuous Improvement:

Actively participate in the company’s continuous improvement program by identifying opportunities for efficiency, quality, and process enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in cannabis post-harvest operations is an asset but not mandatory.
Previous leadership or training experience required.

  • Skills & Attributes:

Strong understanding of SOPs and quality standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
Proactive problem-solving abilities.
Adaptability and willingness to assist across multiple departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
