Seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator!
The core accountabilities and responsibilities for this role include:
Content Development and Campaign Support
- Draft, edit, and adapt copy for a variety of uses, including social posts, newsletters, eblasts, media materials, website content, stories, event promotions, internal communications, and sponsor recognition.
- Support photography, videography, and content gathering at events, programs, and community activities as needed.
- Assist with the planning and execution of integrated campaigns related to fundraising, recruitment, awareness initiatives, events, competitions, and organizational milestones.
- Monitor channel performance and campaign results across social media, email, and web platforms; prepare regular reports and insights to support data-informed decisions.
- Create, schedule, publish, and monitor content across the organizations digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website platforms.
- Maintain and update website content, ensuring information is current, accurate, accessible, and aligned with brand standards.
Design and Brand Stewardship
- Design branded creative assets for digital and print use, including social graphics, signage, posters, brochures, simple video assets, presentations, and event materials.
- Coordinate the organization and maintenance of marketing assets, templates, photo libraries, branded materials, and content files.
Media and Public Relations Support
- Assist with media relations logistics, including drafting media advisories, media releases, quotes, backgrounders, and contact lists.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Event Support
- Coordinate the volunteer recognition program, including nomination intake, submission tracking, awards administration, selection process support, and marketing and communications support for the volunteer recognition event.
- Provide marketing and communications support for key events, which may include some evening and weekend work.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in marketing, communications, and digital content development
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Demonstrated experience managing organizational social media accounts and creating platform-appropriate content
- Strong graphic design skills, including experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with email marketing platforms and digital newsletter production
- Experience updating website content through WordPress or a similar content management system
- Strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished, and on-brand work
- Sound judgment, initiative, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team
- Experience tracking and interpreting analytics across social media, email, and website platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general digital workplace tools
- Experience in photography, short-form video creation, and basic video editing would be an asset
- Knowledge of media relations and public-facing communications would be an asset
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, graphic design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in marketing, communications, digital content, or a related role
- Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence and access to reliable transportation would be an asset
