Restaurant Manager (Culinary Background Preferred)

Japanese Restaurant & Raw Bar – North Vancouver

Salary: $75,000-80,000

Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead the opening of our exciting new Japanese-inspired restaurant in the heart of North Vancouver. This unique leadership role is ideal for someone with both restaurant management experience and a culinary background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of the restaurant concept
  • Assist with kitchen setup, operational planning, and opening preparations.
  • Develop service standards, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop front and back-of-house team members.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, food and beverage costs, and waste control.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor licensing, and food safety regulations.
  • Step into kitchen operations when required to support the culinary team during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant leadership experience.
  • Culinary training or significant professional cooking experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine, sushi, seafood, or raw bar concepts is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation, kitchen operations, and restaurant financial management.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
