Full job description

Copywriter (Full-Time, Calgary)

Agency Atlas Inc.

At Agency Atlas, we don’t just write content.

We build brands.

We work with clients who expect our copy to attract, educate, inspire, entertain and convert.

We’re looking for a copywriter who can do more than string words together.

We need someone who understands that brand is a verb.

Who You Are

You can:

  • Write in multiple brand voices without sounding like yourself in every paragraph
  • Use AI as a research and efficiency tool — not as your ghostwriter
  • Think strategically about SEO and optimize copy accordingly
  • Write scroll-stopping social for Meta and LinkedIn
  • Develop long-form blogs that actually get read
  • Write short form video scripts that inspire creative
  • Craft website copy that converts — including backend tagging, metadata, and structure
  • Sit across from a client, ask sharp questions, and pull out what makes them different
  • Edit ruthlessly (including your own work)
  • Bring personality, humour, intelligence and confidence to the table
  • Push back when needed — respectfully, intelligently, and strategically

You are not a “yes” person.

You are thoughtful. Opinionated in the right ways. Curious. Fast. Coachable. Accountable.

You can write for a drone company in the morning, a residential construction brand at lunch, and a restaurant chain in the afternoon, and never miss the tone.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Brand development, including naming, taglines, and brand-focused messaging
  • Writing and editing website copy (Phase 1 wireframes to final polish)
  • Developing social content and campaign concepts
  • Writing video scripts that inspire our creative teams
  • Turning client blog drafts into optimized, compelling pieces
  • Supporting SEO strategy with keyword-integrated copy
  • Collaborating with designers, strategists, and account leads
  • Meeting with clients to understand their business and uncover positioning angles
  • Contributing to campaign ideas, taglines, headlines, and brand advertisements

This is not a siloed writing job.

This is collaborative. Fast-paced. Creative. Strategic.

Requirements

  • Must live in Calgary
  • Full-time availability
  • Portfolio demonstrating range (social, blogs, websites)
  • Strong grasp of SEO fundamentals
  • Comfortable using AI tools intelligently
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • An engaging storyteller
  • Someone that wants to be here, long-term in the interest of building something unmatched

If you want a quiet, repetitive writing job, this isn’t it.

If you want to build brands, challenge ideas, and sharpen your craft every week, this is for you.

Send your resume, portfolio or writing examples, and a short note explaining why you’re the right fit. If you skip this step, we will assume you either didn't read this whole description, or don't care enough to put in the effort requested. Both are deal breakers.
