ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY- Electrical Apprentice – Technical Representative
Provides electrical support including, but not limited to, low and high voltage power systems, controls, applications, repairs, installations, maintenance and consulting.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Technical
- Assists Technical representatives with construction, commissioning and troubleshooting in various industrial/commercial atmospheres (underground, oilfield, solar, etc.)
- Performs assigned electrical or mechanical tasks, on-site or substation maintenance, shutdowns and commissioning efforts.
- Ensures accuracy of installation (inspection, testing, etc.) prior to bringing the system or equipment online.
- Provides field support including connecting systems and equipment, testing, etc.
- Maintains customers’ systems and plants to ensure smooth operation.
- Assists the onsite crew in addressing problems and troubleshooting.
- Performs onsite tests and assessments using available tools; resolves identified issues by determining best solution and resources.
- Ensures work is completed in a safe manner.
- Sells, promotes, and completes core TPS services.
- Promotes on the job safety on all occasions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The position requires applicant to be a registered electrical apprentice with Saskatchewan Apprenticeship. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Problems presented (e.g. process improvements, machine works optimally) are addressed effectively and documented where appropriate.
- The quality of work, decisions made, and documentation submitted reflects the incumbent’s specialist qualifications.
- Peer reviews (e.g. manager review of the work) confirm expectations are met.
- Customers’ feedback on projects and the incumbent is positive.
- Assigned projects or work assignments are delivered on time and on budget.
- Resources are efficiently utilized.
- The quality of the delivered work meets expectations.
- Issues of concern or importance are communicated to the Manager in a timely manner.
- Suggestions for technical solutions and/or project management improvements support the achievement of project outcomes.
