RN/RPN

Rural Home Care is a private home care company supporting seniors, adults, children, persons with Alzheimer's disease, persons with mental health disabilities, persons with intellectual disabilities, females, males, persons with a disability in Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide Nursing care that is within the provincial scope of practice for a RN/RPN
  • Provide Catheter care and changes
  • Be willing to preform PSW duties, in addition to Nursing care.
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Assist with regular exercises
  • Feed or assist in feeding
  • Provide Companionship
  • Observe and document client conditions according to company standards; report unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the Office
  • Understands and implements infection prevention practices
  • Adhere to Rural Home Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and discuss only with appropriate personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to stand, bend, squat and kneel
  • Able to lift between 45-60 kg; able to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting and rolling in bed
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions as related to client care
  • Ability to travel locally from client to client

Certificates, licences and courses

  • CPR course
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate
  • Registered with the CNO and in good standing
  • Must have driver's license and reliable vehicle to commute within rural areas
