Nursing Summer Student - (RN or RPN) (Funded by Canada Summer jobs program)

Shifts: Comprised of different shifts including:

• Weekdays 8:00 am – 4:00pm, 9:00am – 5:00pm, 10:00am – 6:00pm
• Available to work every second weekend 9:00am – 5:00pm

Reporting to: Director of Care/ADOC

Start Date: June 2026

Rate: $17.60/hour

Core Functions:

• Successful applicant will be accountable to the Director of Care and report to Assistant Director of Care
• Successful applicant will assume the duties as outlined in the orientation.
• The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, combined with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• The ability to interact well with residents, families, team members, and the multi-disciplinary team is essential.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Attended school as a full-time RN or RPN student during the preceding academic year; Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
• Is a student in a post-secondary program
• Evidence of good attendance
• Copy of a current C.P R. Certificate – Basic Heart Saver, preferred but not mandatory
• The ability to write and speak English fluently
• Strong computer skills
• A valid Vulnerable Sector Check for Employment completed by your local Police Department - No older than 6 months
• Two-step TB test or chest x-ray - No older than 6 months *this has to be fill out within 14 days of hire*
• Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
• Have a valid SIN
• Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
• International students, and those who are here in Canada on a work, youth, or visitor visa/permit are not eligible for the program.
