Modular Precast Systems is a new business in Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON. We are innovative, fast-paced, technologically advanced, and our goal is to provide the highest quality precast construction components for our customers.

JOB TITLE: Yard Manager, Precast Manufacturing

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: $35 per hour (subject to experience)

BENEFITS: 15 days vacation (after 3 months)

We are looking for an individual that has experience in the manufacturing sector (concrete or steel/rebar an asset). You should be proficient as a team leader with a proactive approach. You will collaborate with the Plant Manager, Project Management, Production Manager and the Production team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for ensuring the safe loading and unloading of precast concrete products, as well as spotting machines during operations. As this is a year around position, ability to work in various outdoor conditions will be necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in safely attaching Precast Slabs, Walls, Beams, Columns and other precast products using chains and hooks.

  • Participate in loading and unloading materials from trucks
  • Organize the efforts of a team
  • Monitor machinery movements in the yard to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Confirm that all products are securely fastened for safe transport.
  • Adjust rigging techniques to meet the specific requirements of each load.
  • Ensure precise measurements and load balance.
  • Log and familiarize with locations of all materials and products on-site.
  • Update inventory with daily or yard-wide reports.
  • Review and track materials as they are loaded onto transport vehicles.
  • Review material quality prior to transport
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating quick thinking and problem-solving skills as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min. 7 years experience in the construction or concrete industry
  • Min. 7 years in rigging operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Organization and problem-solving skills
  • Physicality and strength to perform demanding tasks and handle heavy material
  • Able to work at heights
