FabHR’s client is a precision CNC machining company specializing in complex, high-accuracy components for advanced industries including aerospace, robotics, medical devices, and industrial equipment.
Its sales operation is based in Ottawa and consists of inside and outside sales specialists focused on developing long-term manufacturing customers across North America. It is building a modern, data-driven marketing and outbound sales engine to support this growth.
We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative who can identify companies likely to outsource precision machining and help convert those opportunities into long-term manufacturing customers.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for outbound prospecting, identifying companies that outsource machined components, and developing qualified opportunities for the engineering and quoting teams.
You will work directly with company leadership and the marketing and outside sales teams to identify companies likely to outsource precision machining and determine whether upcoming machining opportunities exist.
This role combines outbound prospecting, relationship development, and opportunity qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting
- Contact targeted companies using prospect lists generated by the marketing team
- Identify engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing contacts responsible for sourcing machined components
- Conduct outbound calls to determine whether companies outsource precision machining services
- Maintain disciplined outbound prospecting activity throughout the day
- Document conversations and follow-up activities within the CRM system
Opportunity Identification
- Determine whether companies currently outsource machined parts
- Identify potential upcoming projects, programs, or production requirements
- Qualify opportunities before introducing engineering or outside sales
CRM & Data Management
- Record all conversations and contact information within the HubSpot CRM system
- Maintain accurate notes regarding company capabilities, sourcing practices, and potential projects
- Track opportunities through defined sales stages
Sales Team Support
- Work closely with the marketing team to prioritize target companies
- Support the outside sales representative by identifying qualified opportunities
- Provide feedback that helps improve targeting and lead quality
Sales Activity Expectations
- Typical activity levels include approximately 100–125 outbound calls per day
- Typical activity levels include approximately 20–30 conversations per day with engineering or purchasing contacts
- Maintain disciplined follow-up on prior conversations and open opportunities
Consistently update call outcomes and next steps within the CRM system
- Required Skills
- Experience in outbound B2B sales, business development, or inside sales
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Comfortable conducting high-volume outbound prospecting calls
Ability to engage engineering and purchasing contacts professionally
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B industrial sales or manufacturing environments
- Experience working with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce
- Experience prospecting engineering or manufacturing organizations
Experience identifying and qualifying technical opportunities
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining or fabrication
