Kitchen Utility Staff

Job Summary:

The Camp Kitchen Utility Staff plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the camp’s food service. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and supporting the kitchen team in various tasks. The ideal candidate is hardworking, adaptable, and a team player who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dishwashing & Sanitation: Operate dishwashing equipment, clean dishes, utensils, and cookware, and maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
• General Cleaning: Assist in keeping the kitchen, dining hall, and food storage areas clean, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Food Prep Assistance: Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
• Stocking & Inventory: Assist with unloading, organizing, and storing food and kitchen supplies.
• Waste Management: Dispose of trash and recycling properly, ensuring waste areas are clean and organized.
• Dining Hall Support: Help with setting up and breaking down dining areas before and after meals.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Be ready to assist the kitchen team with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing needs in a camp setting.
