Job Summary
Genesis is seeking a Managing Director to lead one of its portfolio companies—a well-established B2B manufacturing business operating in a competitive and evolving market.
This role is suited for a commercially driven, hands-on leader who can take ownership of the business, drive revenue growth, and build on an existing operational and commercial foundation.
The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with direct execution, with a strong emphasis on pipeline creation, deal execution, and continuous business improvement.
This is a sales-led, player-coach role, requiring active involvement in generating pipeline, closing key opportunities, and reinforcing a structured go-to-market approach.
The business operates with established systems, processes, and sales methodologies in place. The expectation is to optimize, scale, and drive consistent execution, rather than build from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Growth & Commercial Leadership
- Own revenue performance, including pipeline development, forecasting, and deal closure
Sales Leadership (Player-Coach)
- Lead from the front through direct involvement in sales execution
- Reinforce and evolve structured sales methodologies (including MEDDICC and Challenger-based approaches)
- Establish cadence, accountability, and performance standards
- Coach and develop sales capability as the function evolves
Digital & Marketing Execution (Shopify-Led)
- Own and execute marketing initiatives in the absence of a dedicated marketing team
- Manage and optimize the company’s e-commerce platform (Shopify), including:
- Product setup and updates
- Content and merchandising changes
- Landing page adjustments
- Improve website conversion and support pipeline generation through digital channels
- Identify opportunities to enhance the online customer experience and drive revenue
Business & Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day business performance across sales, marketing, operations, and product
- Align commercial activity with operational capacity and delivery
- Identify and address bottlenecks impacting growth and execution
Financial & Strategic Oversight
- Operate within defined financial parameters
- Balance investment in growth with disciplined resource management
- Partner with stakeholders on planning, forecasting, and prioritization
Systems & Process Optimization
- Leverage existing CRM (Hubspot), ecommerce (Shopify, and operational systems (Spire) effectively
- Improve visibility into pipeline, performance, and forecasting
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and drive consistency
- Personally contribute to pipeline generation through outbound and account-based strategies
- Lead complex B2B sales cycles and strategic customer engagements
- Drive consistent execution of an established sales process, refining where appropriate
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience leading revenue growth in a B2B environment.
- Strong track record of building pipeline and closing complex, consultative deals
- Experience working within structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC, Challenger)
- Comfortable operating within Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms
- Experience working without a dedicated marketing team, with direct ownership of digital tools and execution
- Ability to operate effectively in entrepreneurial or growth-stage environments
- Hands-on leadership style with a bias toward execution
Pay: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
