Position Summary:

The Plant Maintainer is responsible for repair and maintenance of all production equipment. The candidate must ensure that all machines are working and maintained in a proper working condition to support our manufacturing/production needs. This position reports to the Plant/Production Supervisor or his designate.

Key Responsibilities & duties

· Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot all production equipment.

· Perform machine setup, adjustment and tooling changeovers

· Troubleshoot and repair production equipment using drawings, diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer's instructions

· Perform equipment installation, setup-up and start-up

· Perform regular preventive maintenance to sustain optimal performance of the equipment and minimize unexpected machine downtime

· Responsible for maintaining equipment in a safe working condition; maintaining machine fluid level, lubricating necessary parts, changing worn out or damaged parts

· Ability to react quickly to equipment downtime, troubleshoot and fix issues with a sense of urgency to meet production requirements

· Follow all occupational health and safety and food safety guidelines and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Always follow Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP guidelines and quality standards

Qualifications

· 2+ years of progressive experience as a maintenance technician or millwright preferably in a food packaging environment

· Experience in high-speed automated cup forming and bucket forming machine (PMC, Sherwood)

· Maintenance of Flexo graphic printing machine (Stevenson, Kidder & Wolverine)

· Innovative to find maintenance solutions for older machines for which spare parts and PLC are not readily available and manufacture support does not exist.

· Ability to read manuals, drawings, and follow procedures and instructions.

· Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and lockout / tagout procedures

· Quick learner with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

· Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

· Ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Training will be provided.

Gradual pay increase will apply

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
