Part time morning milker and calf feeder

We are looking for someone to join the team on our dairy farm, specifically to milk 3-4 mornings per week and help look after the calves (newborn - 4 months of age.

This position is for the morning shift starting at 5AM - for 4-5 hours per shift

Duties include but not limited to-

-morning milking with another team member

-washing the milking parlour

- Ensuring calves are fed milk at the proper time

-monitoring and treating sick calves as needed

-ensuring that newborn calves are fed colostrum according to farm protocol

-maintaining accurate records

-Ensuring calves have clean dry bedding

-washing all feeding and other calf care equipment

The ideal candidate should

- enjoy working with animals

-be able to follow protocols and SOP's

-be a team player but also be able to work independently when needed.

-be able to work out in the elements

-be able to lift 20kgs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Experience:

• Livestock Farming: 1 year (preferred)
