Quality Control Technician/Lead hand

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30PM

Company Overview

Kemflo Canada, established in 1988, family owned and operated, has developed into a leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic injection molding products. We operate a 100,000 sq facility located in bradford, Ontario.

Summary

We're looking for an experienced Quality Control Leadhand to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring our quality assurance program, overseeing shift quality operations, and ensuring compliance with company objectives and customer expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, good manufacturing practices, and wear the required personal protective equipment while in the warehouse or production areas.
  • Ensure all products being run conform to the product specifications as outlined in our quality assurance program and ERP system
  • Follow, monitor and uphold ISO 9001, 2015 standards
  • Responsible for the calibration and maintenance of the measuring tools
  • Work closely with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, and eliminate out-of-specification or non-conformance products.
  • Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Conduct relevant visual and dimensional inspections on raw materials and finished products.
  • Rejected products must be quarantined, categorized and labeled
  • Report any inspection and test data (weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected).
  • Identified issues must be reported, and any deviation to procedure, system, or standard must be investigated, and corrective actions and follow-ups must be assisted with.
  • Participate or assist in internal audits or recertification of ISO on an as-needed basis.
  • Document reports, complaints, departmental requests and assist with all administrative functions associated with this role.
  • Ensures all team members have proper equipment, tools, and gauges; verifies that equipment is signed out.

Qualifications

  • Schooling in Quality Assurance or Mechanical Engineering would be an asset
  • Proven experience in manufacturing and quality control processes
  • Understand ISO-9001 2015 would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
  • Expertise in quality inspection and analysis skills
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QA/QC)
  • Previous experience in plastics industry would be an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move loads over 50 lbs.
