Vacuum Truck Driver - Class 1 or Class 3 Driver

Sumas Environmental Services Inc. is a leading environmental company in Western Canada, providing environmental services to our clients.

Our Burnaby facility is looking for a personable, hard-working, and physically capable person to join us as a Vacuum Truck Driver.

Skills Required:

• Recent vacuum truck experience
• Class 1 license would be an asset
• Long Haul driving experience an asset
• Heavy-duty equipment operator would be an asset
• Clean driver's abstract
• Proven track record of safe driving
• Able to work individually and as a team
• Flexibility to work extended hours and overtime as required is preferred

Duties include:

• Safe and efficient operation of Class 1 or Class 3 vehicles including but not limited to Vacuum trucks, Van Trucks, and Roll Off Bin Trucks
• Performs daily safety and maintenance checks including oil fluids and greasing
• Able work in a variety of different weather conditions
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs including offloading and loading at customer sites
• Other duties as required requested by the Regional Operations Manager

Qualifications:

• Class 1 license preferred. Class 3 drivers with previous industrial and vac truck experience will be considered.
• Mountain and winter driving experience
• Work experience in the TDG waste, recycling, or environmental service industry an asset, however not required
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving
• TDG and WHMIS experience

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday during our core facility hours of 7:30am-4:00pm. You may be required to come in earlier or stay later depending on daily project demands and do overtime. There may be weekend work depending on client job requests.

Pay is commensurate with experience.
