Warehouse Associate (Order Picker and packer)

Job Summary:

As a Warehouse Picker/Packer at Preston Hardware, your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently pick and pack products for shipment to customers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive their orders in a timely manner and that our inventory is well-organized. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

• Gather products from assigned areas within the warehouse according to provided order sheets and pick lists. Maintain precision in selecting the accurate items and quantities.
• Pack items securely and safely, utilizing appropriate packaging materials such as boxes and bubble wrap, to ensure the utmost care and protection during the packaging process. Make certain that fragile items are thoroughly safeguarded to prevent any damage during the packing process.
• Thoroughly examine products for any signs of damage or defects prior to packing. Promptly identify and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor for further action and resolution.
• Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure working environment and report any concerns to the supervisor.
• Acquire a fundamental knowledge of the products available at Preston Hardware to effectively identify and handle various items with accuracy.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors to facilitate smooth operations and ensure timely order fulfillment. Collaborate with other departments, such as shipping and receiving, to address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment. Ensure the work area remains tidy and unused items are promptly returned to their designated locations.

What you bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center position is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management and order tracking.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment and machinery is a plus.

Working time: 42.5 hours in a week (Shift: 8.5 Hours a day)
