Full job description
- Conduct on-site assessments of residential and commercial trees to evaluate health, structure, and risk
- Prepare accurate, detailed written estimates for pruning, removal, stump grinding, cabling, bracing, and plant health care services
- Present proposals to homeowners, strata councils, property managers, and commercial clients professionally and clearly
- Follow up on outstanding quotes and work to convert leads into booked, profitable jobs
- Collaborate with crew leaders to ensure estimates reflect real site conditions, equipment needs, and labour hours
- Identify upsell opportunities including deep root fertilization, cabling, crown reduction follow-ups, and seasonal maintenance programs
- Maintain up-to-date records of estimates, job files, client communications, and completed work
- Advise clients on regional municipality tree permit requirements and utility clearance processes
- Represent Limb Master Tree Service professionally at all times — you are often the first face clients see
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial arboriculture, tree care, or urban forestry
- ISA Certified Arborist designation (current and in good standing)
- Demonstrated experience preparing estimates or quotes in a tree care or related trades environment
- Strong knowledge of tree species native and common to the BC Interior, including pest, disease, and structural risk identification
- Solid understanding of proper pruning standards (ANSI A300) and best management practices
- Familiarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and field safety requirements
- Valid BC driver's licence with a clean abstract
- Proficiency with tablets, estimating software, or CRM platforms for quoting and job tracking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to explain technical work in plain language
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a busy schedule of site visits independently
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the Okanagan seasons
NICE TO HAVE
- ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) — strong asset
- BC Pesticide Applicator Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Certified Utility Arborist (CUA) or Falling & Bucking Endorsement
- Previous sales experience in a trades, landscaping, or service industry context
- Experience with aerial lift or bucket truck operations
- Class 3 driver's licence or higher — an asset for occasional crew support
- Familiarity with local municipal bylaws governing tree removal and tree protection in the Okanagan
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive base wage of $28–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- 2% commission on all completed jobs that come in on target (within estimated cost) — paid monthly
- This position is available as full-time or part-time — we are open to discussing a schedule that works for the right candidate
- Mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle on site visits (CRA rate)
- Potential for a company vehicle upon successful performance review — discussed at 90-day check-in (full-time employees)
