This is an in-person creative role focused on helping THE ROW build a strong visual identity through photography. You will help capture the people, spaces, outfits, events, details, and candid moments that shape campus culture at UofT and TMU.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling through photos and can create images that feel raw, stylish, natural, and visually cohesive.
Applicants must have access to a camera beyond an iPhone, such as a DSLR, mirrorless camera, compact digital camera, film camera, or other digital camera.

- Helping with photo essays, “spotted” content, house tours, and visual features
- Working with writers, interviewers, and content coordinators to match visuals with stories
- Editing photos in a cohesive style that fits THE ROW’s brand
- Organizing and sending final photos to the team for review and use
- Being respectful when photographing people, events, and private spaces
- Making sure consent is clear before photographing or sharing images of individuals
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is
- Creative, observant, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable capturing both candid and lightly directed moments
- Able to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera
- Interested in campus culture, Greek life, student stories, fashion, events, and editorial visuals
- Able to edit photos in a clean, cohesive style
- Respectful, professional, and mindful when photographing people or private spaces
- Organized and able to send photos in a clear, timely way
- Excited to help build a student-run digital magazine from the ground up
- Has access to a camera beyond an iPhone, such as a DSLR, mirrorless camera, compact digital camera, film camera, or other digital camera
Why Join THE ROW?
As a Photographer, you will help shape the visual identity of THE ROW. Your photos may be used for social media content, photo essays, interviews, event coverage, promotional campaigns, and future editorial features.
This role is a great fit for students interested in photography, media, journalism, creative direction, fashion, social media, communications, branding, or campus culture.
You’ll gain experience building a visual portfolio, collaborating with a creative team, and contributing to a growing student-led publication.
