Company Overview

'Allstar Mechanical Group is a complete mechanical firm, providing top-quality service in Vancouver for over 40 years. We are a smaller office looking for a detail oriented and organized professional willing to develop his/her career. If you are efficient and able to manage and solve multiple priorities in a calm and tactful manner, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

You will be responsible for full cycle accounting for multiple companies, and assisting management in creating and maintaining reports related to budgeting, forecasting and cash management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounting, with job costing and payroll for Canadian & U.S. companies
  • Year end audit working paper files for external accountant for all companies
  • Check payroll for accuracy and compliance to Employment Standards (BC & AB)
  • Responding to queries & compliance/audit requests from outside agencies (eg. CRA, IRS, WCB, city/state B&O)
  • Liaising with external accountants, auditors, tax specialists and bankers
  • Mentoring accounting and administrative support staff
  • Troubleshooting computer problems, solving software and user issues related to Sage 100 Contractor (knowledge and use of construction accounting software beneficial)
  • Maintaining leases (terms, expirations, payment details, etc)
  • Credit card reconciliations and postings
  • Work with management for guidance on all matters to ensure accuracy of accounting system and reports

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in job costing and construction accounting
  • Canadian CPA License
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Proven ability to provide high quality and accurate information in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple priorities and demands
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Construction Accounting: 5 years (preferred)
  • Job Costing: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (required)

Work Location: In person
