Position Summary
The Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of top hammer and/or DTH drill rigs to produce quality blast holes according to project specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and experienced in production drilling environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Top Hammer and/or DTH drill rigs safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance
- Drill holes to specified depth, angle, and pattern requirements
- Accurately record drilling data and production reports
- Identify and report ground conditions, hazards, or equipment concerns
- Work closely with blasting crews and supervisors
- Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2+ years experience operating Top Hammer and/or DTH drill rigs
- Experience in mining, quarry, or civil blasting environments preferred
- Strong understanding of drill patterns and grade control
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
