Field Surveyor

Location: 211-3780 14thAve, Markham, ON

King EPCM is looking to fill in one (1) full-time field surveyor. This position is for an experienced surveyor to independently conduct site visits, conduct topographic surveys, create civil engineering drawings, and write professional reports. Under the direct guidance of the Principal Engineer, the surveyor is expected to independently complete projects related to their field of expertise.

Site locations are generally GTA area, with sporadic visits required to other areas in Southern Ontario.

King EPCM is offering base salary at $20 ~ $35 per hour, plus various health benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform layout for sewer, watermain
• Read and interpret drawings and convert to survey data
• Complete site localization, topo, and as-built surveys
• Conduct topographic surveys, using GPS and total station (Must have background experience, to be tested during interview)
• Establish control points and verify elevations
• Work with field crews with grade and alignment
• Conduct concrete testing, as per ACI credentials (Company will give training)
• Conduct general inspections & testing of different aspects of civil and chemical environmental engineering
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures and project specifications
• Operate mechanized hand tools or other inspection tools

Mandatory Requirements

• 5+ years of surveying experience
• Must be physically fit to conduct field-visits and operate heavy mechanized hand tools
• Proficiency with GPS and total station surveying
• Ability to work independently
• Valid G driver’s license and willing to travel between job sites
• Fully fluent in English language, with ability to write clear and concise inspection reports
