Own the Numbers. Improve the Process. Help Shape What’s NEXT.

You’re a Senior Accountant who wants real ownership, not just a checklist close.
You enjoy partnering with operations, improving systems, and seeing your work directly impact the business. If you’re looking for a role where your expertise is trusted, your ideas are welcomed, and your work truly matters, NEXT Compression would love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing – and Why It Matters:

In this role, you’ll be the financial backbone of our operations, ensuring the numbers tell the right story and helping the business make better decisions.

This is an on-site, hands-on role where you’ll work closely with operations (manufacturing, procurement and project managers), and leadership, not from the sidelines, but right in action. You will play a key role in driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

The Impact You’ll Have

As the Senior Accountant, you’ll report directly to the Director of Finance & Accounting and own key accounting and reporting functions across the organization.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Own the month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze monthly income statements, balance sheets, and KPIs
  • Manage revenue recognition, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Support audit readiness and external reporting requirements

Cost Accounting , Analysis & Insight

  • Manage field service job costing, manufacturing WIP, and milestone billing
  • Analyze cost variances and project margins
  • Perform margin analysis by project and product line
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements

Compliance, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS
  • Improve accounting processes and optimize ERP utilization (Genius ERP an asset)
  • Support capital expenditure tracking and reporting for equipment and machinery

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days

  • Independently manage month-end close
  • Build strong relationships across finance and operations
  • Develop a solid understanding of job costing and revenue flows

6–12 Months

  • Lead process improvements that improve accuracy, efficiency, or reporting timelines
  • Be a trusted financial partner to field service and manufacturing teams
  • Help scale accounting and reporting processes to support growth

What You Bring

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation not required but will be an asset)
  • 3–8+ years of progressive accounting experience (Most recent experience in Manufacturing or project-based environments an asset)
  • Strong experience with full-cycle accounting, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Experience working with ERP systems

You’ll Thrive Here If You’re:

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
  • A clear, confident communicator who enjoys collaboration
  • Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Aligned with a team-first, continuous-improvement mindset
