Job Description
King EPCM is looking to fill a full-time Municipal Servicing Engineer or Designer position. This position is for an experienced professional independently design civil engineering drawings, such as drainage grading plans, municipal servicing plans, stormwater management LIDs, preliminary pump designs, and write professional reports. Under the direct guidance of the Principal Engineer, the Municipal Servicing Engineer is expected to independently complete projects related to their field of expertise. A dedicated team of drafters will support the Engineer or Designer, to ensure fast and high quality designs is converted into plans and drawings.
Responsibilities
- Design of site grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and other site plans
- Design of municipal servicing plans, such as sanitary sewer, stormwater sewer, and watermain
- Conduct pipe calculations, for both gravity-drainage pipes as well as pressurized watermains
- Design of residential and small-scale septic design
- Conduct periodic field visits and inspections as required
- Other responsibilities related to Civil Engineering
- Review and direct CAD drafters with their work, regarding civil engineering plans and drawings
Mandatory Requirements
- At least 4 years, 10,000 hours of municipal servicing Design of grading plans and servicing plans
- Must show proficiency in personal and technical independence, specifically for municipal design of site grading plans, water services, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers
- Must demonstrate fluency and understanding in basic pipe servicing first-principles knowledge
- Must demonstrate full fluency in the English language and capable of writing professional reports with some minor peer-review
- Must be physically fit to conduct field-visits, including in remote locations
- Must have valid G driver’s license and personal vehicle, willing to travel to project site
Preferred Requirements
- Fluency in AutoCAD, 2D/3D
- Good to be a registered Engineer-in-Training, P. Eng with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or Civil Engineering Technologist (CET)
