Overview
We’re looking for a highly experienced pipe welder/fitter who is a motivated and methodical professional to become part of a team with the desire to succeed.
Work Term: Permanent Full-Time
Wage: Very Competitive wage within the Region of Waterloo (Based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Day Shift)
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as welder/fitter
- Experience in Pipe welding industry
- Must have good attendance record
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
- Operate plasma cutting equipment
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Type of materials
- Duplex stainless steel
Welding techniques
- Metal inert Gas welding (MIG)
- Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
Equipment and machinery experience
- Gas welding machine
- Plasma cutting torch
Area of specialization
- Custom fabrication
- Large diameter pipelines
- Pressure vessels
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in a related field
- Leadership ability and team building skills
- 5-10 years team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Direct working knowledge of weld and pipe operations
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, and Word.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Sitting/Standing/Walking for long periods of time.
- Use of PPE, including safety glasses and steel toe boots required.
- Overtime as required.
- Weekend work may be required.
