Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at New Toronto Food Co. in Canada. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient operation of our machinery, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality produce while adhering to sustainability and food safety standards.
Responsibilities:

  • Setting up machines: Calibrating, cleaning, and preparing machines for production cycles.
  • Operating machinery: Controlling and adjusting machine settings, such as speed and feed rates.
  • Feeding materials: Loading raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines.
  • Inspecting parts: Using precision tools to check parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Routine maintenance: Performing regular inspections and minor repairs to ensure machines run smoothly. Set up and adjust for different sets of blades required for different products to make sure the quality of the product is maintained.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing issues that arise during operation.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining logs of machine activity, including approved and defective units.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and regulatory safety guidelines, including food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.

Requirements and Skills :

  • Previous experience, preferably in a food production or produce-related environment, is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a machine operator.
  • Knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
  • Understanding the production procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow the daily production schedule and manuals.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

  • Work Schedule: 5–6 days per week, may include weekends and evening shifts. Shift lengths may vary and can extend up to 12 hours, depending on operational requirements.
  • Pay rate : $17.60/hour
