Experienced Mechanical Estimator (Plumbing / Sprinkler)

Allstar Mechanical is a well-established mechanical contractor specializing in plumbing and sprinkler systems for new construction and building conversion projects. We work on a wide range of residential and mixed-use developments and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team.

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for upcoming projects. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical construction, with a focus on plumbing systems, and must be experienced with Trimble AutoBid estimating software. Sprinkler system estimating experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare detailed mechanical estimates
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for plumbing and mechanical systems using Trimble AutoBid estimating tools
• Analyze material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and internal construction teams
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Review addendums and ensure all tender requirements are captured
• Assist with budgeting, change pricing, and project handoff after project award
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, and industry partners

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical estimating experience preferred (or adjust as needed)
• Strong experience estimating plumbing systems for new construction projects
• Proficient with Trimble AutoBid Mechanical estimating software
• Ability to perform detailed take-offs and interpret mechanical drawings/specifications
• Strong understanding of labour, material, and construction processes
• Experience with multi-family residential towers, mixed-use developments, or commercial projects is preferred
• Sprinkler estimating experience is considered an asset
• Plumbing trade background, engineering background, or mechanical construction experience is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage tender deadlines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
