Camp Manitou is hiring a Lead Rock Music Instructor for Summer 2026, an exciting opportunity for a passionate musician to spend the summer outdoors teaching, mentoring and sharing their love of music with campers aged 7 to 16.
This is more than simply teaching music. It is about helping campers find confidence, creativity and joy through performance, collaboration and self-expression. From jam sessions and skill development to band projects and special performances, you’ll help bring one of camp’s most exciting creative spaces to life.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging daily rock music classes for campers aged 7 to 16
- Teach and support campers in areas such as guitar, drums, piano, bass and vocals (you do NOT need to be able to teach in all these areas)
- Help campers develop musical skills, confidence and creativity through collaborative music-making
- Support special projects, performances and camp-wide programming
- Supervise and mentor a small team of staff within the music area
- Ensure a safe, welcoming and encouraging environment for all campers
- Bring energy, creativity and passion to one of camp’s most exciting activity areas
What We’re Looking For
- Strong musical background with proficiency in one or more of the following: guitar, drums, piano, bass or vocals
- Passion for music and enthusiasm for sharing it with young people
- Leadership skills and comfort supervising a small staff team
- Experience working with children is a strong asset
- Collaborative, energetic and positive attitude
- Comfortable accepting guidance, feedback and supervision
- Ability to live on site for the duration of the contract (June 18 - August 13)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
