Position Summary

The Painter is responsible for supporting the preparation, coating, and finishing of components and equipment while contributing to product quality, durability, and overall shop operations. This role includes surface preparation, painting, touch-ups, equipment maintenance, and assisting with other general shop duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and paint components, equipment, and new machines with guidance from engineering and production requirements

· Provide input to improve manufacturability, serviceability, durability, and finish quality

· Perform surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, masking, and corrosion removal

· Apply coatings using spray equipment, brushes, and other painting tools

· Complete touch-ups, finishing work, and quality checks on painted items

· Assist with equipment repair, testing, and occasional light fabrication or welding as needed

· Maintain painting equipment, work areas, shop tools, and general shop cleanliness

· Support other general shop duties as required

Qualifications

· Strong mechanical aptitude and previous industrial painting experience preferred

· Knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, spray equipment, and finishing techniques

· Familiarity with safety procedures, PPE, and shop maintenance practices

· Above-average organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
