Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the supply chain and ensuring that goods are transported efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for tasks given by the Logistics Manager and handling of freight shipments for clients. This position utilizes various modes of transport such as air, ocean and road. This includes, booking transportation, completing necessary documentation and sending documents for customs clearance.

The Logistics Coordinator is expected to provide guidance and alternatives to clients to ensure shipments move quickly and efficiently from origin to destination.

Duties

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Manage logistics processes including transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
  • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and optimize logistics strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation and records.
  • Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to stakeholders regarding delivery status.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards related to transportation and logistics.
  • Schedule service and satisfy customer needs for service changes. Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established policies
  • Perform driver check-ins at day’s end to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
  • Distribute, collect and review work orders for proper days end data entry
  • Ensure coordination with other departments, clarifying roles and responsibilities for resolving service issues
  • Packaging and shipping sample packages to sales reps and their customers
  • Interacts with customers, sales, project management team, drivers and technicians, sub-contractors, other divisions and departments as required
  • Works to optimize schedule to deliver maximum output -Fields incoming calls and emails from customers
  • Manage customer complaints and concerns
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Other duties as directed or required
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirement

This position requires attention to details, quick problem-solving skills, and being adaptable to changes. This includes accurate records, follow ups with sales reps/customers on returns, cross referencing return documents with physical counts. This role works closely with the operations and accounting departments to ensure precise counts are recorded accurately.

Experience

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • College diploma/degree in business or equivalent Logistics work experience is required -Experience using MS Word, Excel, carrier booking portals
  • Previous experience in a high volume, high stakes, and high paced environment
  • Organizational skills are a must
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Previous experience with negotiations
  • Knowledge of customs clearance practices (PARS, PAPS, DODAs, etc) -Able to handle stressful, time sensitive situations
  • Logistical problem-solving skills
