Project Engineer

ALCO Energy Solutions – Edmonton, AB T6E 5S5

Alco Energy Solutions is looking to fill the current position of Project Engineer. Reporting to the Manager - Projects, the Project Engineer will be an integral part of the ALCO Projects team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between ALCO and our customers
  • RFQs
  • Prepare and release:

o Shop (work) orders

o Material Requisitions for Purchasing

o Complete Package Bills of Material

  • Reviewing and applying customer specifications
  • Monitoring the project schedule and report any changes to the scheduler
  • Communicating, and working in conjunction with, all departments at ALCO
  • Review and approve drawings to meet package, customer, and Code requirements, including:

o PFD’s, P&ID’s, 3D models, and GA’s

o Piping systems, ISO's, Line lists

o Pressure vessels and heat exchangers

o Non-Code equipment, including reconcentrators and atmospheric tanks

o Structural steel

o Subcontractors’ drawings pumps, aerial coolers, etc.

  • Create Change Orders with pricing
  • Support the applications’ group, when required
  • Review and approve all major process related vessel and line sizes.
  • Final review and selection of all major process related sub-vendor buyout equipment
  • Review PSV sizing including inlet/outlet tail pipes and overall flare header sizing
  • Review control valve sizing
  • Participate in HAZOP’s
  • Coordinate all project documentation
  • Perform P&ID walk down of package to ensure compliance with design prior to shipment
  • Coordinate / support activities for all installation, commissioning and startup needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
  • Professional engineering license (P.Eng or P.L. Eng) or ability to register
  • Relevant experience in project engineering, preferably within the oil & gas industry
  • PMP certification would be an asset
  • Sizing and selection of instrumentation would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of gas processing and fabrication
  • Knowledge of industry codes, such as ASME Section VIII and B31.3
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite programs used to create reports and documents, MS Teams and Bluebeam
