Now Hiring! SENIOR MILLWORK ESTIMATOR

Industry Experience Required: Custom Architectural Millwork (Woodworking)

The Role

As our Sr. Millwork Estimator, you’ll prepare accurate and timely project estimates, complete with material takeoffs and help secure profitable work. You’ll collaborate across departments, build strong industry relationships, and directly support PSF’s continued growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and submit complete, competitive bids
  • Review drawings, specs, schedules, and scopes
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor/supplier pricing
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations and Purchasing team
  • Maintain cost data, trending, and documentation
  • Support Business Development team and client relations efforts
  • Participate in project handoffs and site reviews

Accountabilities

  • Source and engage qualified subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and market intelligence.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications, partnering with internal teams to validate scope completeness and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Review general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, and site logistics to ensure accurate, well-informed estimates.
  • Document all estimating activities with precision, including notes from phone and email communications.
  • Collaborate with plant and operations teams to evaluate and recommend efficient production methods that support project success.
  • Partner with the Purchasing team to review material requirements and align procurement strategies with project needs.
  • Support sales and business development initiatives, contributing technical insight and cost expertise.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate labor and material cost trends that impact project pricing and competitiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and end users—consistently reflecting company values and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Actively participate in industry and client engagement activities to strengthen brand presence and market reputation.
  • Lead comprehensive project turnover meetings with the Project Management team, including detailed reviews of contracts, drawings, and scope.
  • Participate in periodic site visits and project reviews to maintain alignment between estimates and execution.
  • Reconcile and validate all estimating data collected throughout the bid process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support team and organizational objectives.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of millwork industry in an estimating, procurement or project management role
  • 5+ years experience in sourcing vendors and subcontractors.
  • Education in related field of study such as construction, woodworking and\or manufacturing.
  • Detailed knowledge of section specifics i.e. wood, metal, acrylic, glass or any other material.
  • Well versed in the Architectural Millwork Industry
  • Working knowledge of AWMAC
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and critical timelines.
