Full job description

Position: Quality Control, Full Time.

Location: Edmonton, Alberta.

Reports to : Quality Control Manager

Shift: full time, shifts may vary.

Job Summary: Inspection of fresh fruits and vegetables in accordance with In-House specifications. Following on-site Food Safety /HACCP Guidelines and related duties. Monitoring Inventory and rotation practices. Handling and Processing of bananas. May involve other warehouse duties.

Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20kg, be able to work within a refrigerated environment. Produce knowledge would be a definite asset. Should have good communication and organizational skills. Own transportation would be best based on shift start times.

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required, however may be an asset.

Experience: related produce experience would be a definite asset. We also provide training.

Work Setting: Produce wholesaler/warehouse and processing facility.

Equipment: Hand jacks, power jacks, forklifts, scissor lift, re-cycle balers.

Specific Skills: Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment, Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products, Pick orders and stock, Weigh materials and goods, Make labels and attach to goods, Wrap goods, Pack and unpack goods, Sort goods, Crate goods, Stack goods, Maintain and organize inventory

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Public transportation is available in the area

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Continuous learning
