Full job description

Precise Downhole Solutions is expanding across three divisions—PureLight™ DFOS (DTS/DAS/DSS), Core (conventional conductor-based P/T gauges & thermocouples), and OURA™ (intelligent gas-lift & EOR valves)—to help operators optimize waterfloods, CO₂/EOR programs, and mature-field production with real-time surveillance and exception-based operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field execution — [PureLight / Core / OURA]: Install, commission, and troubleshoot DFOS systems, permanent P/T gauge strings with conductor cable, thermocouple bundles, and OURA gas-lift hardware; perform QA/QC and ensure data integrity.
  • Engineering analysis — [PureLight / Core]:
  • Reservoir: Interpret DTS temperature profiles, DAS flow/noise, and DSS strain for injectivity, sweep/conformance, thief-zone ID, and plume movement; support build-up/fall-off and basic PTA.
  • Production: Support nodal/IPR-VLP checks, artificial-lift diagnostics (incl. gas-lift activity via DAS), and workover prioritization.
  • PSSP-AI (no coding required) — [All]: Understand and configure networking/IT requirements (edge devices, VPN, time sync, data routing, OPC-UA/MQTT/Modbus, firewalls). Perform on-the-fly analysis in customer meetings—review live traces, apply QC, and translate signals into clear operational actions.
  • Project delivery — [All]: Scope jobs, contribute to proposals/BOMs/specs, and produce concise commissioning/operations reports.
  • Customer interactions & sales support — [All]: Deliver technical presentations/demos, co-develop scopes and proposals, estimate and schedule, and execute diligent customer follow-up (notes, actions, CRM hygiene).
  • Drafting (light only): Produce simple, clear drawings (e.g., surface hookups, clamp/strap layouts)—no detailed wellbore schematics.
  • R&D & quality: Trial materials, clamps, cables, interrogators, and analytics features; capture lessons learned to drive reliability and performance.
  • Documentation & HSE: Maintain impeccable records (as-builts, test sheets, photos, calibrations) and uphold/continuously improve safety procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Engineering degree (BSc/BEng) or MSc (Eng). Eligible for P.Eng. (APEGA) or EIT actively working toward P.Eng.
  • Canadian resident with a valid passport (or actively obtaining) and ability to travel domestically/internationally (U.S./LATAM).
  • Working knowledge of:
  • PureLight DFOS: DTS (thermal/conformance), DAS (flow/leak/valve activity), DSS (strain/integrity).
  • Core (conductor sensors): Permanent downhole P/T gauges and multi-point thermocouple bundles.
  • OURA gas-lift/EOR: Valve fundamentals, diagnostics, and optimization in mature wells.
  • Drilling, completions, reservoir & production work scopes: Able to support customer initiatives and align Precise products/solutions to field needs (waterflood balancing, CO₂/EOR surveillance, AL optimization).
  • Data & tools: Python and MATLAB for data wrangling, signal checks, and quick visualizations (ad-hoc analysis); strong Excel. SQL/Power BI, git, and Jupyter are assets.
  • Systems & networking (PSSP context): Comfort with device connectivity, protocols, and time synchronization; collaborate with IT to meet cybersecurity and data governance requirements.
  • Working style: Proven ability to work in a team and operate independently in the field to drive outcomes.
  • Communication: Clear technical writing, confident presentations, and disciplined documentation.
  • Field aptitude: Comfortable on rigs/plants with laptops, instruments, and basic test gear; valid safety tickets (e.g., H₂S Alive, First Aid) or willingness to obtain.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with fiber interrogators (DTS/DAS), time-sync/QC practices, and surface acquisition systems.
  • Gas-lift familiarity (signature interpretation, set-point tuning).
  • Spanish for LATAM engagements.

Apply: Send your resume plus a short note describing your DFOS/PSSP/conductor or gas-lift experience and a project you’re proud of. We’re excited to meet you.
