About Us

Founded in 1916, the PCB Global Trade Management group has been providing premium services for over 110 years. Our customs brokerage division, Pacific Customs Brokers, is now one of the leading privately-owned brokerage houses in Western Canada.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to employee growth. We are looking to bring on a Project Management Coordinator who already brings a foundation of experience to the table. With hands-on experience and mentorship, we will help you build a successful, long-term career with a clear track to advance into a full Project Manager role as you master the responsibilities of the role.

The Opportunity

Are you a natural leader with excellent organizational skills and a passion for overseeing projects from initiation to completion? Join our team as a Project Management Coordinator. This role is ideal for professionals who have moved beyond basic coordination and bring proven project experience. Working with our Senior Project Manager and collaborating closely with our broader PM team, you will coordinate tasks, communicate effectively, and drive business initiatives to successful outcomes in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Work with the Senior Project Manager and collaborate with your team to coordinate project activities, ensuring tasks are executed on time and within scope. Actively contribute to project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Communication Excellence: Facilitate clear and concise communication between cross-functional team members, stakeholders, and clients. Keep all parties informed of project progress, milestones, and potential risks.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes. Ensure that critical project data is organized, tracked, and readily accessible for leadership review.
  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify potential project risks and partner with the Senior PM to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with diverse teams across our 24/7 operation to ensure project goals align with overarching business objectives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven experience in project coordination or a similar capacity, demonstrating the ability to handle responsibilities above a basic entry-level role.
  • Education & Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred. A solid, practical understanding of project management principles is required.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, time-management, and professional telephone etiquette. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Must be able to speak, read, and write English at a professional level).
  • Availability: 37.5 hours per week.
  • Transportation: Must possess a reliable vehicle as our office is not transit-accessible.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to complete physical tasks such as sitting, bending, and crouching as needed.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be in Canada and have the right to work at the time of application. Applications from outside Canada, PNP/Express Entry, and foreign placement agencies will not be considered. No exceptions will be made.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: Starting rate of $65,000 CAD per year.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for employees and their families after three months.
  • Financial Security: Bonus plan and a Pension Plan.
  • Career Growth: Hands-on training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and Education Support specifically designed to foster your advancement into a Senior PM role within the next few years.
  • On-Site Perks: Free Fitness Centre with an instructor, discounted meals at our onsite restaurant, and free parking.
