Payroll Specialist (12-Month Contract – Full-Time)

Laval, QC

About the role

Mecaer America Inc. is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Laval.

This is a full-time 12-month contract with a strong possibility of permanency.

You will be responsible for managing payroll for a large workforce while supporting key administrative tasks in a dynamic aerospace environment.

What you’ll do

  • Process weekly payroll for ~180 employees
  • Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and collective agreements
  • Manage employee files, benefits, and payroll changes
  • Track absences (vacations, leaves, etc.)
  • Prepare payroll reports, remittances, and records of employment
  • Support year-end processes (T4, R1, etc.)
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed

What we’re looking for

  • DEP or DEC in accounting
  • 2–5 years of payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (required)
  • Bilingual (French & English) – required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Experience in a unionized environment (strong asset)
  • CPA Payroll certification (asset)

Il s’agit d’un poste à temps plein pour une durée de 12 mois, avec une possibilité de permanence.

Vous serez responsable de la gestion complète de la paie tout en soutenant certaines tâches administratives dans un environnement aéronautique dynamique.

Responsabilités

  • Traiter la paie hebdomadaire pour environ 180 employés
  • Assurer la conformité avec les lois et conventions collectives
  • Gérer les dossiers employés et les avantages sociaux
  • Suivre les absences (vacances, congés, etc.)
  • Préparer les rapports de paie et les remises
  • Participer aux processus de fin d’année (T4, Relevé 1, etc.)
  • Répondre aux questions des employés concernant la paie
  • Effectuer diverses tâches administratives

Profil recherché

  • DEP ou DEC en comptabilité
  • 2 à 5 ans d’expérience en paie
  • Expérience avec ADP Workforce Now (obligatoire)
  • Bilingue français et anglais (obligatoire)
  • Excellentes capacités d’organisation et souci du détail
  • Autonomie et esprit d’équipe
  • Expérience en milieu syndiqué (atout important)
  • Accréditation de l’Association canadienne de la paie (atout)
