Overview

BARR LLP is currently looking for an experienced Commercial Paralegal to assist our Commerical Team. The ideal candidate must have experience in a law office setting handling a high volume of commercial and lending transactions. Candidates without experience will not be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Commercial real estate transactions – drafting and full process of legal and banking documents in the areas of purchase, sale and refinance from opening to closing file.
  • Review purchase and sale contracts, financing documents leases and Land Titles documents
  • Provide support for acquisitions and sales of: commercial properties, condominium developments, financing transactions and land development
  • Carry out title and off-title due diligences searches on commercial properties and reviewing reports
  • Commercial lending transactions
  • Private equity lending transactions
  • Drafting statutory right of ways, covenants, easements
  • Dealing with municipalities and strata corporations
  • Preparing contracts and closing documents

Skills & Requirements

  • 1 + years of experience closing commercial real estate transactions
  • CORES training an asset
  • Commercial business lending background an asset
  • APPRES certification an asset
  • Knowledge or experience with LEAP an asset
  • Proficient with computers and office software, including intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize work
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong team player, demonstration of a positive work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong customer service and phone skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must speak, read, and write English fluently; other language skills are an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
